Convert ODS to PDF

Turn a ODS spreadsheet into a PDF that looks the same on every device. The conversion uses LibreOffice on our server and the file is deleted automatically afterwards.

Your file is deleted automatically after conversion.

How to convert ODS to PDF

PDF is the safest way to share a ODS spreadsheet: the recipient sees exactly your layout, fonts and page breaks, and nobody can accidentally edit it. This tool renders the ODS with the LibreOffice engine, the same open-source office suite used by millions, and produces a standard, printable PDF with selectable text.

  1. Step 1: Choose your ODS file

Drag and drop a .ods file onto the converter or click to browse. It works on desktop, tablet and phone.

  2. Step 2: Convert on a secure server

The ODS is uploaded over HTTPS and rendered to PDF in an isolated temporary folder, usually in a few seconds.

  3. Step 3: Download the PDF

Save the PDF file to your device. You can start again with another file right away.

Good to know

  • Every sheet with content is exported, using the print areas and page setup saved in the file.
  • Very wide sheets are split across pages exactly as they would print; set the page orientation to landscape in the original file to keep wide tables together.

Why use this ODS to PDF converter?

  • Keeps layout, fonts, images, tables and page breaks.
  • Text in the PDF stays selectable and searchable, not a flat image.
  • Files are deleted automatically right after conversion.
  • No Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat licence needed.

Is it free?

Yes. Converting ODS to PDF is free, with no watermark, signup or email required. Local conversions have no artificial file-size or daily cap; the practical limit is your device. This server-based conversion accepts files up to 25 MB.

Is my file uploaded?

This conversion needs a server engine, so the file is uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection, converted in an isolated temporary folder and deleted automatically as soon as the result is sent back. Nothing is kept, logged or shared.

About the formats

What is ODS?

ODS is the spreadsheet format of the OpenDocument standard (ODF), an open, ISO-standardised format. It is the native format of LibreOffice Calc and Apache OpenOffice Calc. Like XLSX, an ODS file is a ZIP archive containing XML, with sheets, formulas, styles and charts. Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets can also open and save it.

Use ODS when you work with LibreOffice or when an open, vendor-independent format is required, as is common in public administrations. If your recipients mostly use Excel, XLSX avoids small formatting differences; for plain data exchange, CSV is enough.

What is PDF?

PDF (Portable Document Format) reproduces a document exactly as it was laid out, regardless of the device, operating system or software used to view it. It is the standard choice for sharing, printing and archiving documents whose appearance must not change. Text-based PDFs can be converted to Markdown, plain text or HTML here.

Use PDF whenever the layout matters more than editing, reports, invoices, contracts, résumés and anything you need to share or print so it looks identical everywhere. Choose PDF when recipients should see exactly what you saw, with no fonts or margins shifting.
