How to convert PNG to JPG
The PNG is decoded on your device and re-encoded as JPG with the browser's own graphics engine. Because nothing is uploaded, even dozens of photos convert quickly and privately. JPG is the most compatible image format in the world: every phone, computer, website and printer accepts it.
Step 1: Choose your PNG file
Drag and drop a .png file onto the converter or click to browse. It works on desktop, tablet and phone.
Step 2: Pick the quality (optional)
Keep the recommended setting or adjust it, then the conversion runs instantly.
Step 3: Download the JPG
Save each result individually, or download everything as a single ZIP when you convert several files.
Good to know
- JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
- JPG is a lossy format; the quality setting balances file size and sharpness (85-92% is visually lossless for most photos).
- Photo metadata (EXIF, GPS location) is removed from the converted image, which is good for privacy.
Why use this PNG to JPG converter?
- Batch conversion: drop several images at once and download a ZIP.
- Nothing is uploaded, so personal photos stay private.
- Original resolution is kept.
- No watermark, no account, no app to install.
Is it free?
Yes. Converting PNG to JPG is free, with no watermark, signup or email required. Local conversions have no artificial file-size or daily cap; the practical limit is your device.
Is my file uploaded?
The PNG file is processed entirely in your browser. It is never uploaded, never stored and never seen by anyone, so this is safe for confidential files.
About the formats
What is PNG?
PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a lossless image format created in the mid-1990s as an open replacement for GIF. It keeps every pixel exactly as it was and supports an alpha channel, so images can have smooth, partial transparency. Photos saved as PNG are much larger than the same photos as JPG.
Use PNG for logos, icons, screenshots, diagrams and any image with sharp edges, text or a transparent background. For photographs where file size matters, JPG or WebP are usually better choices.
PNG (Portable Network Graphics)What is JPG?
JPG, or JPEG, is an image format named after the Joint Photographic Experts Group, which created the standard in the early 1990s. It uses lossy compression that discards detail the eye barely notices, so photos take up far less space. It does not support transparency or animation, and every time you re-save a JPG it can lose a little more quality.
Use JPG for photographs and images with smooth colour gradients that you want to share, upload or email at a small size. Avoid it for logos, screenshots with text or anything that needs a transparent background; PNG handles those better.
