Convert DOC to HTML

Convert a DOC document to a self-contained HTML page in seconds. The file is read directly in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and the result is ready almost instantly.

Your file never leaves your device.

How to convert DOC to HTML

This converter reads the structure of the DOC document, including headings, paragraphs, lists, tables and links, and writes it out as a self-contained HTML page. It is ideal for publishing on the web, email newsletters, CMS imports and quick previews in any browser. The engine runs locally with WebAssembly, which means large files convert quickly and privately without waiting for an upload.

  1. Step 1: Choose your DOC file

Drag and drop a .doc file onto the converter or click to browse. It works on desktop, tablet and phone.

  2. Step 2: Let it convert

The DOC is parsed on your device and turned into HTML automatically; there are no settings to worry about.

  3. Step 3: Download the HTML

Save each result individually, or download everything as a single ZIP when you convert several files.

Good to know

  • DOC is the binary pre-2007 Office format. It is read directly, so you do not need to resave it as docx first.
  • Headings are only recognised as headings when the original uses heading styles rather than bold, enlarged body text.
  • Password-protected files must be unlocked in the original application before converting.

Why use this DOC to HTML converter?

  • The result is one standalone .html file with light, readable styling built in.
  • Semantic tags (h1-h6, ul, table) make it easy to paste into a CMS or restyle with CSS.
  • Opens in every browser without Office, LibreOffice or a PDF reader.
  • No upload, no queue and no account: the file never leaves your device.

Is it free?

Yes. Converting DOC to HTML is free, with no watermark, signup or email required. Local conversions have no artificial file-size or daily cap; the practical limit is your device.

Is my file uploaded?

The DOC file is processed entirely in your browser. It is never uploaded, never stored and never seen by anyone, so this is safe for confidential files.

About the formats

What is DOC?

DOC is the binary document format used by Microsoft Word up to Word 2003. It stores text, formatting, images and tables in a proprietary structure that Microsoft later documented publicly. Since Word 2007 it has been replaced by DOCX, which is based on XML and ZIP, but Word, LibreOffice and most word processors still open DOC files.

Use DOC only when you must share a document with someone on a very old version of Word or with a system that accepts nothing else. For everything else, DOCX is smaller, more robust and better supported. If you receive a DOC file, saving it as DOCX or PDF usually makes it easier to work with.

What is HTML?

HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the markup language used to structure web pages, defining headings, paragraphs, links, images and more. Every website you visit is built on HTML. It is plain text that a browser interprets and renders into the page you see.

Use HTML whenever you publish content on the web, pages, articles, emails or anything meant to be read in a browser. It is also the destination format when converting a text document into a web page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is DOC to HTML conversion free?

Yes. It is free, with no watermark, signup or email required. Local conversions have no artificial file-size or daily cap; the practical limit is your device.

Will the HTML keep the formatting of my DOC?

The structure is kept: headings, lists, tables, links and bold or italic text. Visual details such as fonts, colours, page margins and exact positioning are not part of HTML output, which uses a clean, readable default style.

What happens to images inside the DOC?

Images are not embedded in the output; the converter focuses on the text and its structure. If you need the images, export them from the original application.

Is it safe to convert doc to html here?

Yes. The work happens on your own device with WebAssembly and browser APIs, so the file is not uploaded at all. You can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs in a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. There is no app, plugin or account.
