How to convert ODP to PPTX

PPTX is the modern Office Open XML format: smaller files, better recovery from damage and full support in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and Apple iWork. This converter opens the ODP with LibreOffice and saves it as PPTX, preserving text, styles, tables and images as faithfully as possible. It is the quickest way to open an incompatible file or to meet a format requirement without installing an office suite.

  1. Step 1: Choose your ODP file

Drag and drop a .odp file onto the converter or click to browse. It works on desktop, tablet and phone.

  2. Step 2: Convert to PPTX

The file is uploaded securely and saved as PPTX by LibreOffice in a temporary, isolated folder.

  3. Step 3: Download the PPTX

Save the PPTX file to your device. You can start again with another file right away.

About the formats

What is ODP?

ODP is the presentation format of the OpenDocument standard (ODF), an open, ISO-standardised format. It is the native format of LibreOffice Impress and Apache OpenOffice Impress. An ODP file is a ZIP archive containing XML, with slides, images, notes and transitions. PowerPoint and Google Slides can open it, although complex animations may not look identical.

Use ODP when you create presentations in LibreOffice or need an open format for archiving or public-sector work. If you will present from PowerPoint, PPTX is the safer choice, and PDF is best when the audience only needs to view the slides.

What is PPTX?

PPTX (PowerPoint Open XML) is the standard format for slide-based presentations, created and edited in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides and LibreOffice Impress. A presentation is made up of slides that can hold text, images, charts, videos and speaker notes. Like other modern Office formats, PPTX files are ZIP containers storing XML.

Use PPTX whenever you build a slide deck to present, pitches, lessons, webinars and team updates. It keeps the structure of slides and notes intact, so you can also convert it to PDF to share a fixed version.
