Compress Images
Reduce the file size of JPG, PNG and WebP images without visible quality loss. Compression happens in your browser, so photos are never uploaded.
Your file never leaves your device.
How to convert Image to Image
Each image is re-encoded with an optimised quality setting you control. Photos commonly shrink by 40-80%, which speeds up websites, keeps email attachments under size limits and saves storage. JPG stays JPG and WebP stays WebP; PNGs are converted to WebP, which keeps transparency at a fraction of the size.
Step 1: Choose your image file
Drag and drop a .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, .gif, .bmp, .avif file onto the converter or click to browse. It works on desktop, tablet and phone.
Step 2: Adjust the quality
80% is a great default; lower it for smaller files.
Step 3: Download
The new size is shown for each image; download them one by one or as a ZIP.
Good to know
- If an image cannot be made smaller, the original is kept.
- For the web, combine with Resize Image: a 4000 px photo rarely needs to be more than 1600 px wide.
Why use this Image to Image converter?
- Batch compression with a ZIP download.
- You see the size saved for every file.
- Photos never leave your device.
- Removes EXIF and GPS metadata.
Is it free?
Yes. Compress Images is free, with no watermark, signup or email required. Local conversions have no artificial file-size or daily cap; the practical limit is your device.
Is my file uploaded?
The Image file is processed entirely in your browser. It is never uploaded, never stored and never seen by anyone, so this is safe for confidential files.
